Maria A. Carmo, age 78, of Newman, California passed away on Monday, April 6, 2020. Maria was born February 1,1942 in Urzelina, São Jorge, Azores to Antonio M. Fagundes and Berta A. da Silva.

Maria is survived by; son Joe F Carmo (Teresa) of Newman, California; son Luis M. Carmo (Cidalia) of Hilmar, California; daughter Maria Fritzler (Carl) of Grove, Oklahoma; daughter Connie Garcia (Joe) of Los Banos, California; and daughter Lisa Smith (Mike) of Reno, Nevada; brother Antonio Fagundes of Lisbon, Portugal, sister Fatima Lasenda of Turlock, California, sister Delfina Adriano of Gustine, California, sister Lina Adelaide Fagundes of Azores and sister Deonilda Escobar of Fremont, California.

She came to the United States in 1971 and got married on May 25,1963.

Maria was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband Luis Carmo in 1996; and her sister Bernadette Fagundes.

Services for Maria A. Carmo are in the care of Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service (FD 504) in Turlock,California.
