Born on July 31, 1933, in Santa Bárbara, Terceira, Açores, to José and Emília Vieira, Maria Fátima carried with her the proud traditions and deep faith of her Portuguese heritage. She was a devoted parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hilmar, where she found comfort and community.
Maria Fátima is fondly remembered for her warmth and nurturing spirit. She was an exceptional cook and baker, bringing her family together with traditional Portuguese dishes and dessertrs. Above all, her greatest joy and pride were her grandchildren, they were her whole world, and she loved them beyond measure.
She is survived by her sons, Joe Costa (Nizalda) and Tony Costa, and her daughter, Filomena Marcelino (Victor). Her loving spirit lives on through her grandchildren, Michael Costa, Macey Cooke, Shelby Bromley, Taylor Agrella, and Brianna Palmer, and her great-granddaughter, Areli Costa.
Maria Fátima was preceded in death by her husband, António Costa; her parents, José and Emília Vieira; her sister, Maria Amélia Moles and her brother José Carlos Vieira.
Pallbearers honoring her memory include Tony Costa, Michael Costa, Stratton Agrella, Joseph Cooke, Taylor Bromley and Tristan Palmer.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service, 286 West Main Street, Turlock, California, 95380.
The Recitation of the Rosary and Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 20263 American Avenue, Hilmar, California, 95324, followed by burial at Turlock Memorial Park, 575 N. Soderquist Road, Turlock, California, 95380.

Maria Fátima Costa, de 92 anos, residente em Hilmar, Califórnia, faleceu pacificamente em sua casa no dia 5 de novembro de 2025, rodeada pelo carinho da sua família.
Nascida a 31 de julho de 1933, em Santa Bárbara, ilha Terceira, Açores, filha de José e Emília Vieira, Maria Fátima.
A Sra. Costa deixa de luto os seus filhos, Joe Costa (Nizalda) e Tony Costa, e a sua filha, Filomena Marcelino (Victor). Os seus netos, Michael Costa, Macey Cooke, Shelby Bromley, Taylor Agrella e Brianna Palmer, e sua bisneta, Areli Costa.
Foi precedida na morte pelo seu marido, António Costa; pelos seus pais, José e Emília Vieira; pela sua irmã, Maria Amélia Moles e pela seu hermão José Carlos Vieira.
A Sra. Costa era paroquiana da Igreja Católica do Rosário, em Hilmar.
