Mrs. Maria Avila Nunes entered into rest peacefully surrounded by her family, Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at her residence in Turlock. She was 82 years old and was born in Calheta de Nesquim, Pico, Azores. Mrs. Nunes is survived by her Son- Eric Simas Nunes of Turlock, Two Daughters-
Dilia Maria Ferreira and her husband Tony of Turlock, Fatima Fagundes of Merced. Brother- Jose C. Freitas of Brasil. Nine Grandchildren, and Seven
Great-Grandchildren. Maria Avila Nunes was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church of Turlock, and was Preceded in Death by her Husband- João Nunes.
Services: Visitation- Sunday, March 1, 2015 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Chapel, 286 W. Main St., Turlock.
Combined Service of Rosary & Funeral Mass-10:00 AM, Monday, March 2, 2015 at “Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church”, 2602 S. Walnut Rd., Turlock.
Mrs. Nunes will be laid to rest at Turlock Memorial Park, 575 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock, California.
