Maria Adelaide Ponte, age 79, of Turlock, California passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2020. She was born September 25, 1940 in Urzelina, Sao Jorge, Azores to Vasco da Silva and Isabel Dias dos Ramos.
Maria is survived by; son John da Ponte of Modesto; son Luis da Ponte of Crows Landing; daughter Marie J. Silva (Frank) of Hilmar; daughter Isabel Amirfar (Nino) of Turlock; daughter Arlete de Couto (Marcel) of Turlock; daughter Maria Renner (Richie) of Arizona; and daughter Grace Ponte of Turlock; sister Leonor Raposo of Turlock.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Our Lady of Fatima Society in Turlock, California.
Maria was preceded in death by her husband Albano Dias da Ponte, her son Albano Manuel Da Ponte, her parents and by three brothers.
A visitation for Maria will be held from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service, 286 W. Main Street, Turlock, California. A recitation of the rosary will follow.
A funeral mass will occur at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 14, 2020 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1200 Lyons Avenue, Turlock, California. A committal service will be afterward at Turlock Memorial Park, 575 North Soderquist Road, Turlock, California.
Serving as pallbearers are Steve Silva, Scott Silva, Jayden Silva, Adam Amirfar, Michael da Ponte and Marcus De Couto.
