Maria O Vieira

On September 9th, Maria Vieira passed peacefully in Escalon, CA at the age of 85.

Born in Santa Luzia, Angra do Heroismo, Terceira, Azores, Ms. Vieira lived in Escalon for 1 year and was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church after living in Turlock for many years.

Maria leaves behind her husband of 62 years, Jose Vieira of Escalon. She leaves behind her sons: Jose Henrique (Sandra) Vieira of Valley Springs, Rui Alberto (Sandra) Vieira of Escalon, Jorge Manuel (Ana) Vieira of Fall River Massachusetts, and Joao Vieira of Modesto. Maria leaves behind her daughters: Ana Maria (Manuel) Baptista of Escalon, Laura da Conceicao (Fernando) Ourique of Bulhal, Idaho and Diana (Ramiro) Ponte of West Port, Massachusetts. She also leaves behind 17 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Sunday, September 18 from 2-4 P.M. at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service, 286 W Main Street, Turlock.

Following the visitation, a Rosary will be held at 7 P.M. at St Patrick's Catholic Church of Escalon.

A funeral will be held on Monday, September 19 at 10:00 A.M. at St Patrick's; burial to follow at St John's Cemetery in Escalon.
