Mary Silva

Born on June 4, 1938, in Pico, Azores, Portugal, Mary was the daughter of António Silva and Maria da Conceição Silva. As a young mother, she made the courageous decision to come to the United States with her young son, where she worked hard to build a life centered on family, perseverance, and opportunity. Through her dedication and quiet strength, she created a foundation that would support not only her son but generations of her family.

Mary is survived by her beloved son, Anthony Estacio; her grandchildren, Robert Estacio and Toni Estacio; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild, all of whom brought her immense joy and love.

She was preceded in death by her father, António Silva; her mother, Maria da Conceição Silva; and several beloved siblings.

Family was the center of Mary's life. She shared a special bond with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and would do anything for them. Whether preparing a favorite meal, offering encouragement, or simply being present, she expressed her love through acts of care and generosity. She had a servant's heart and was always looking after those around her, often putting the needs of others before her own, even when her health made it difficult.

Mary cherished the thoughtful gifts her grandchildren gave her, especially the sweaters they picked out for her each year on her birthday. Those gifts were a reminder of the love and connection she shared with them. She also had a special fondness for beanies, always joking that she was cold and making sure her grandson kept her supplied with a new one whenever she needed it. These small traditions brought her comfort and became treasured memories for her family.

A woman of deep faith, Mary found comfort and strength in her relationship with God. She faithfully prayed the Rosary every day, and her quiet devotion guided the way she lived, with kindness, humility, and compassion.

Mary loved bringing people together around the table and took great pride in cooking for her son, grandchildren, and family. She especially looked forward to her breakfast, lunch, and dinner dates with her grandchildren at Brooks Ranch in Atwater, where she treasured the time spent together, the conversations shared, and the special memories they created. She also enjoyed life's simple pleasures, especially trips to Monterey and bus excursions to the casino with her friends, where laughter and companionship made lasting memories.

Mary had a joyful spirit and a warm smile that made others feel welcome. She genuinely wanted those around her to be happy and found fulfillment in caring for others, sharing her faith, and spending time with the people she loved most.

Her life was a testament to resilience, faith, generosity, and unconditional love. The example she set through her hard work, selflessness, and devotion to family will continue to live on in those who knew and loved her.

A celebration of Mary's life will be held at a later date. Her family is grateful for the love, prayers, and support they have received and will forever cherish the memories and legacy she leaves behind.
