Michael Deewayne Bettencourt Sr.

Michael Deewayne Bettencourt Sr. passed away on November 18, 2025, at Doctors Medical Center, at the age of 69. He was born on April 2, 1956, in Merced, California, to Manuel and Ernestine Bettencourt.

Michael was a crafty, outgoing person who loved to dance and never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was known for his green thumb, truly enjoyed working in his yard, and had an undeniable knack for gardening, bringing life, color, and care to everything he touched.

He is survived by his spouse, Joy Lynnette Bettencourt, his son, Michael Bettencourt Jr. (Lynnette); his daughter, Melissa Bettencourt; and his extended son, Jason Corsaut. He is also survived by his siblings; Roger Anthony Bettencourt, Barbara Lynn Rodrigs, Geralyn Marie Baker (Steven), and Tommy Bettencourt (Michelle). In addition, he leaves behind his grandchildren; Isabella Casioce, Titus Louns, Starla Masquart, Steven McMenomy, and Rylan Carpenter and his great-granddaughter, River Marie Masquart.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Manuel Roger Bettencourt, and his mother, Ernestine Thomas-Bettencourt.

Michael’s warm heart, generous spirit, and joyful presence will forever be remembered. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness. He will be deeply missed and eternally loved by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
