Michael Joseph Shinkel, Founder of Solidarity Ranch. I will pray to the Spirit World Gods. Negate is my favorite. She is a Crone Goddess.

I’m in my fifth year of Recovery. Alcohol and Stimulant drugs were my addiction.

My Mental illnesses are still with me.

I will use my Scrying bowel and make Magick. Star magick and Moon magick. My alter and candle magick will help Michael.

I don’t know why all these people are sad. Michael went to a better place.



Dearest Michael Shinkel:

I first met Michael while I was in a 28 day treatment program in a hospital in Burlingame, CA in Aug 1987. He mentioned something about some issues they help with at Solidarity, that I had been going through while in the 28 day program. He put me at ease.

The weekend after Labor Day of 1987 I walked through the front door of the "Main House" in Daly City, CA. Michael looked at me and said, "Hey slick." There were so many people moving about in this huge home. I felt right at home. Michael had me sit down and we talked awhile, being interrupted the entire time. It looked like he was used to it.

I stayed in Solidarity for 3 years. I lived in Daly City, SF, San Rafael, Brisbane. I was given the opportunity to manage a women's home in Daly City too. Wow. Those poor ladies. Ha! But I think Michael knew I needed it more than they did.

I worked for Solidary for the last 2 years of my stay, helping recovering people. It was very rewarding. I would not have been able to meet all of those people and had all of those experiences had it not been for Michael opening the door for me. 

I'll miss the twinkle in his eyes, I'll miss his insight, I'll miss his laugh, and most of all I'll miss the love he had for me. He was my recovery hero. Oh, I've been sober since 8/11/87. Solidarity helped me get the right start that I needed for the long road ahead.

In Memory of Michael Joseph Shinkel, Mary and I are thankful for Mike, a few years back Mike played a great roll in recovery and restoration of Mary’s son Danny, We are grateful there was a place for Danny to retreat, regroup, and rebuild His life to God. To God be all the Glory for a man such as Mike Shinkel the story is unique in Danny’s placement how he got there it was mainly God’s choice for Danny to meet and be a part of not only Mikes recovery program, but be a part of helping many more to recover at the facility in Paterson Ca. Our condolences go out to the Mike Shinkel family and friends and the rest of the family to be blessed and also be comforted at this time Mike Shinkel is defiantly in Heaven that should give incentive to those who look on awaiting for our turn to enter in to the beautiful place called Heaven. It truly is RIP Mike.

The Gardener. He was my best friend. I had the privilege of being blessed by his company for the the last four months before his passing. We had long talks about life and family and recovery. And most of all about God and life choices. He was such a great man. A super intellectual. He had a heart of gold and was one of the most down to earth humble and God fearing men I ever met. He lived the bible. He lived the program . I'm proud to ever have met him and forevermore greatful for him. He believed in me when I couldn't. And he helped save my life twice. I will always be inspired by him. I only hope to continue his legacy and pass it on to others. He will be forever miss and loved. RIP Buddy
