Patricia (Patty) was born in Watsonville, California, on June 11th, 1964, and was raised in San Jose, CA. A graduate of Overfelt High School, Patty made friends easily and maintained those connections throughout her life. Her high school friendships later turned into what she considered family and her family continued to grow. Patty met her husband, Thomas, in late 1988 at a local restaurant she worked at in downtown San Jose called Trini’s. Married months later in April 1989, Patty and Thomas left the Bay Area and grew their family in Tracy, CA where she worked for a number of years at Walmart then eventually moved to Livingston, CA then Delhi, CA where she was a “stay at home mom”. Patty was not just a mother, but a good friend, a hard worker, and very passionate about all of her children and grandchildren. Her love for family and friends was her best asset, and she always made time and helped out no matter what. She loved to cook, dance, and watch her novellas. She had an infectious laugh and smile that cannot be forgotten. Patty will be dearly missed and always remembered.
Patty is survived by her husband of 33 years, Thomas V. Chayrez, and their five children, son Joseph Flores (Margarita), son Joshua Chayrez (Elizabeth), daughter Jaylene Chayrez (Cihan), daughter Nicole Sawvel (Jeremy), and son Thomas Chayrez (Lourdes). Her 6 grandchildren, Ava, Delilaah, Joshua Jr, Myles, Joslynn, and future “Baby Girl”. Patty is also survived by her two sisters, Esmeralda Maltos and Veronica Maltos, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Humberto and Josefina Maltos, and her brother Humberto Maltos Jr.
A memorial will be held February 10th, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at The Diocesan Shrine of Saint Jude Thaddeus, located at 330 Franci St., Livingston CA 95334, followed by a Celebration of Life next door in the church hall.
