I think back to the days when he was working for Tom Sawyer before he began his own successful dairy/cheese venture. Phil always had a great sense of humor , a true interest in people, and a kind and generous heart. He will be truly missed by many. We have been out of town and unable to attend the services, but know that our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Ernie and Mary Jane Scheuber

To the Fanelli family,
I am so sorry for your loss, May god give you comfort in knowing that Phil is resting in peace with the lord and is watching over all of you. I will never forget Phil, the large framed man with the even larger than life kind heart, with his hat on crooked who gave me my first pair of Jersey bull drop calves from the barnyard at the fair. I was only 9 years old and was so excited to take them home; I hadn't even asked permission from my parents if it was ok, because I knew that it would be, I mean come on, Phil “gave” them to me. The look on my dad's face when I told him we were taking them home was classic, but the smile on Phil's face to my dad was even better. One year later Phil again gave me another pair of Jersey drop bull calves, only this time my parents did not allow me to take them. Although the fun and excitement of raising the calves for me probably lasted for about a week, bags of milk replacer and bottle feeding I would say my dad did an excellent job in raising those bull calves that Phil “gave” me. That is also probably why my dad told Phil you give him any more cows and I'm giving him to you. Phil's kindness and contagious smile will always be remembered. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers with deepest sympathy

Our heartfelt sympathy to Nadine and the entire Fanelli
family .May you find comfort in family and friends and in
the precious memories you share. Philip and I have known
each other for the past 74 years . He made up part of the
wonderful Fanelli family. When he saw me he would never
call me Chet , but would always refer to me as "Gumps". He
will be missed by everyone who knew him. May he rest in
peace.

I have fond memories of the guy with the big grin and sideways hat over the 20 years I farmed in Hilmar. His passing is a loss to the whole Hilmar Community.

"Uncle Phil" was such a big influence in my life and the lives of countless other 4-Hers that were lucky enough to know and love him. He was always teasing us but it was done with love and in good fun. I remember when I first met him and he realized who my parents were. He had known them both since he was a young boy. At every 4-H event and at all of the fairs, he would have such a great time convincing me to be a part of his jokes on my Uncle Tommy. And then later on when I had kids, he was so kind and loving to them. He was the first to teach my son how to milk a cow. We laughed so hard, I thought I would cry. And my kids got the biggest kick out of how he wore his hat! He will truly be missed and our heartfelt condolences go out to the entire Fanelli family. No words can ease your loss but know that our thoughts and prayers are with you always. Heaven now has one hell of a dairyman running the show - go Jerseys!!! Rest in peace "faccia brut" you will truly be missed but the love we feel for you will go on.

To my dad Victor Fanelli
By Victoria Fanelli
My father's father went to Heaven, I know how he must have cried
He must have wished and willed him back, I know my father tried
The strength of the fathers in my blood line are that of steel and iron
The roar and the courage would tame and silence the mighty lion
It's so very hard to surrender all that strength and courage to Heaven, to allow him to gain his wings
But the comfort of the rainbow he sent me today made me smile as I know with a choir of Angels…he rests and he sings
The strength was passed from my father's father and in turn it has passed to me
The heart and the soul, the strength and the bloodline, live on in his legacy
Rest in peace Grandpa
Love Tori

I love you Dad with all my heart
And hate that we should be apart
Our love is a bond that can't be broken
You may be gone, but never forgotten

I remember the day you went away
The pain in my heart is every beat
But I know that eventually, one day
We will, once again meet

The loss is something I can't describe
I'm really going to miss you
One day I'll be back by your side
So I can hug and kiss you

There are no words to tell you,
Just what I'm feeling inside
The shock, the hurt, the anger
One day, will gradually subside

Things will never again be the same
And though I'm hurting quite bad
I will smile whenever I hear your name
And be so proud to remember my Dad
