A lifelong lover of the outdoors, Bob found his greatest joy in nature. Whether birdwatching at dawn, hiking quiet trails, or casting a line into a favorite fishing spot, he felt most at home under open skies. He had a keen eye and a patient spirit, traits that also fueled his passion for searching out Native American artifacts, unique rocks, and crystals—each find a story he was eager to share.
And tell stories he did. Known for his remarkable sense of humor and gift for storytelling, Bob could captivate any room, weaving tales that brought laughter, reflection, and connection. His stories—sometimes hilarious, sometimes heartfelt—will live on in the memories of all who had the privilege to hear them.
Music was another constant companion in his life. Bob loved the sounds of folk, bluegrass, and rock and roll, often filling his days with the songs of his favorite artists John Prine, Jerry Jeff Walker, and Robert Earl Keen. Those melodies became the soundtrack to his adventures and quiet moments alike.
Perhaps Bob’s greatest love story was the one he shared with his wife, Cheryl. Friends for many years before marrying in 2014, their bond was built on deep understanding, companionship, and enduring affection. Together, they shared a life full of laughter, joy, and unwavering support.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife Cheryl J. Clark, his son Chris Bettencourt, his step-daughter Chasity Oneil, his siblings Dana (Karen) Clark, Thomas (Janice) Clark, Nancy (Thom) Owens, Dennis (Carolyn) Clark, and Raymond (Marti) Clark, 5 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Betty Clark.
Bob will be remembered for his curious spirit, his warmth, his humor, and his ability to find beauty and meaning in the simple things. My he rest in everlasting peace.
