Robert "Bob"/"Bobby" James Nascimento, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was 71 years old. As a devout Catholic, Bob looked forward to his eternal reward.
Born on October 20, 1953, Bob was a lifelong learner and a man of deep curiosity. For him, science wasn’t just something to be read about but a lens through which he viewed the world. He believed in asking questions and never stopped his pursuit of learning. From a young age, he was drawn to the skies, developing a passion for aviation and the mechanics of flight that stayed with him throughout his life.
Bob’s love of engines, whether in cars, tractors, planes, or lawnmowers, meant he was often found with grease on his hands. He had a deep fascination for how things worked and was never afraid to take something apart just to understand it better.
His hands were rarely still. Bob was a skilled woodworker who found joy in crafting. He also enjoyed gardening, working the soil and sharing the harvest with others.
He was a San Francisco Giants fan, finding joy in the strategy of baseball, whether listening on the radio or watching from the stands. Bob also enjoyed a variety of music: bluegrass, classical music, or rock and roll constantly blared through the house.
More than anything, Bob loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and his family. He was a constant source of strength, laughter, and wisdom. His passing leaves a big hole in so many lives.
Bob is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Martin Nascimento; his children Daniel Robert Nascimento, David Francis Martin Nascimento, Anna Kate Nascimento, John Mathew Nascimento, Nicolas Mark Nascimento (Anika Yvonne), Adam Luis Martin Nascimento (Taylor Agnes), Elizabeth Rose Nascimento, and Mary Grace Nascimento, his grandchildren Fredrick James Nascimento, Jude Steven Nascimento, Finnick Mark Nascimento, and Francis Robert Nascimento. He is also survived by brothers Dennis and Gregory Nascimento (Teri), sisters Raelyn Mello, Dianne McEwen (Ewen), Carol McKinley, Karen Martini (Joseph); and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Evelyn Nascimento, brothers-in-law Joseph Mello and Daniel McKinley, and sister-in-law Jayne Nascimento.
