Rosa Maria Nunes Teixeira

Rosa, a devoted mother and wife passed away on April 17, 2015 with her family by her side. Rosa was born on November 21, 1969 in Cruzal, Santo Antão, São Jorge, Azores to Jose and Maria Nunes. Her legacy is continued by her children Jason and Jerry Teixeira and husband Manuel Teixeira. She is the daughter of Jose and Maria de Jesus Nunes of Merced; Brother - Jose Arlindo and his wife Telma of Los Banos; Two Sisters – Cidalia Nunes and her husband Luderio of Flores, Azores and Fatima Nunes and her husband Juan Acosta of Merced. She also has many relatives in both the United States and the Azores. Rosa will always be remembered as a brave and hardworking strong woman but most of all beyond selfless. Her passions included her children, the dairy that her and her husband built and Tokay High School Band Students were she was known as “Band Mom”. She was a board member of Pacific Gold Milk Company.

Services: Visitation – Friday, April 24, 2015 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Chapel, 286 W. Main St., Turlock. Funeral Mass – Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 2602 S. Walnut Rd., Turlock, CA. Private Internment.
