Ruby Marie Coy Verboot Borges

Ruby Marie Coy Verboort Borges born September 6, 1916 at Ragan Nebraska. The middle daughter of five girls born to Forest Coy and Stella Graham Coy, Fern, Lucile Ruby, Ruth and Lorraine,. She lived her first 18 years on the farm at Ragan Nebraska. She went to school and graduated from Ragan High School in 1933. That was during the high depression and the Dust Bowl of the 1930’s. In 1934 she moved with her parents and family to Forest Grove, Oregon. On October 25, 1936 she married Steven Verboort, they made their home in Cornelius. They had 2 children Marlene Beverly and Judy Ann. Marlene passed away on September 14, 2005. Judy lives in Roseville, California. After 25 years of marriage they were divorced. Ruby then moved to California. She married her high school sweetheart Earl Borges on August 31, 1962 at Studio City, California. They lived there for seven years where Ruby managed an apartment house and Earl worked for Flying Tiger Airlines. In 1969 they moved to Hillsboro, Oregon where they both worked and retired from Tektronix in 1980. They did a lot of traveling in the Caribbean, New Zealand, Australia, Hawaii and many trips to Nebraska, Washington and Canada. Ruby took up a hobby of oil painting, she sold a lot them and filled the homes of all of her family. Her four sisters preceded her in death. She and Earl moved from Hillsboro to California and lived their final days in Modesto. Earl passed away at home on March 6, 2004.

She leaves to mourn her one daughter Judy Sapoznik and one son in law Paul Sapoznik, one step child David Borges, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

Her services will be held Saturday, February 13th, 2016 at Valley Memorial Park Funeral Home 3929 SE Tualatin Valley Hwy, Hillsboro, OR 97123. Ph: (503) 648-5444
