Sharlene Selma Armas peacefully entered into eternal rest on July 27, 2026, at the age of 81. Surrounded by the love of her family, she went home to be with the Lord, where she is now free from pain and embraced by His everlasting peace.
Born in Utah, Sharlene made her home in Merced, California, where she built a life centered on love, family, and the simple joys that brought happiness to those around her. She had a vibrant spirit and cherished spending time shopping, eating at Wendy’s, playing bingo with friends, and treating herself, daughters and grand-daughters to relaxing pedicures. Her favorite color was purple, a reflection of the warmth, grace, and beauty she carried throughout her life.
Above all, Sharlene’s greatest joy was her family. She is lovingly survived by her husband, Michael Armas; her daughters, Michele Armas (Tony Douds) and Gina Weaver (Jesse Weaver); her grandchildren, Joseph Kamesch (Alex Jenkins), Kelsi Kamesch (Josh Cubilete), Gianna Kamesch, Garrett Weaver, Brayton Weaver, and Austin Weaver; her sisters-in-law, Carol Boesch (Ernie) and Marji Stroud; along with her beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. She leaves behind countless treasured memories that will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Sharlene was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Virginia Keith; her father, Wayne Hervilla; her brother, Steve McClain; and her sisters, Pat Jundt (Howard) and Barbara Labbate (Vick). While their absence was deeply felt throughout her life, we find comfort in knowing they have now been joyfully reunited.
The family has planned a Celebration of Life to honor Sharlene’s remarkable life. Please join the family on Sunday, August 23, 2026 at 11:00 am for a luncheon at the Tucker’s Barn 8951 Sunset Drive, Atwater, CA 95301. Please honor Sharlene that day by wearing purple.
Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we take comfort in knowing that Sharlene’s love, kindness, and gentle spirit will remain with us always. May we honor her memory by cherishing one another, finding joy in life’s simple moments, and holding close the faith that one day we will meet again. Until that day, she will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
