Verda Jayne Gardner passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend whose kindness and warmth touched everyone who knew her.
Verda loved her grandbabies with all her heart and treasured every moment spent with them. Her family was the center of her world, and she created countless loving memories that will be cherished forever.
She had a passion for sewing and crochet, often making beautiful handmade creations for those she loved. Verda also enjoyed taking road trips and exploring new places with family and friends. She had a special love for collecting angels, which reflected her gentle spirit and caring heart.
Verda will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her love, creativity, and the joy she brought into the lives of others.
Forever Loved and Never Forgotten
Jayne was survived by her son, Jeffrey Gardner, and daughter-in-law, Janet Gardner, of North Dakota; daughter Samantha Norton and son-in-law Jonathon Norton of Modesto; grandchildren Kadra Gardner, Jenny Miles, Sara Spain of Idaho, and Calliope and Jonathon Jr. Norton of Modesto; and sisters Judy and Janice.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Allen Gardner; mom, Rubye; sister, Jackie; brothers, Mel and Alfred; and grandson, Xavier.
