Wiley Thomas Mefford

Mr. Wiley Thomas Mefford, age 67 “Entered into Rest” on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Kaiser Hospital in Modesto, California. Mr. Mefford was born in Covington, Kentucky and has lived in Turlock for the past two years. He was an Equipment Installer for AT & T and other communication companies for 18 years and served in the U.S. Army. “Tom” was an excellent cook, enjoyed hunting, computer games, fishing and spending time with family. He was a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church of Livingston. Survivors: His Wife of 26 years, Irene Serna Mefford of Turlock; Son – Daniel M. Grimaldo, Sr. and his Fiancée Leah Martin of Delhi; Two Daughters – Evelyn Gomez and her Husband Ruben Gomez of Delhi and Delia Vechart and her Husband David Vechart of Farmington, Minnesota: Two Sisters – Carol Lewis and her Husband Ralph Lewis of Taylor, Michigan and Marsha Damron of Taylor, Michigan; Sister-in-Law – Tina Marini of Turlock: Four Grandchildren – Mitchell A.Vechart, Dane T. Vechart, Amber R. Grimaldo and Daniel M. Grimaldo, Jr; and several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins; Preceded in Death by His Parents - Willard Mefford and Bessie Brooks. Services: Visitation – Tuesday, October, 29, 2013 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Chapel, 286 W. Main St. Turlock with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass – Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 330 Franci St., Livingston, CA. Interment following the Funeral Mass – Turlock Memorial Park, 575 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock.
