
Aaron Curt Whitley, age 83, of Tuscaloosa, died Oct. 05, 2020, at Hospice of West Alabama. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Memory Hill Gardens with Freddie Williams and James Webster officiating and Memory Chapel Funeral Home directing.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Cecil Whitley, Theron Whitley, and Jeff Whitley; and sisters, Mamie Aldridge, Blanch Poole, and Lorene Fowler.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Whitley of Tuscaloosa; his daughters, Kathy Newman (Tony) of Tuscaloosa and Patricia Johnson (Jeff) of Tuscaloosa; his sisters, Aline Price of Tuscaloosa, Kay Tims of Hattiesburg, Miss., and Willie Johnson of Cookeville, Tenn.; his grandchildren, Steven Meggs of Tuscaloosa, Kristen Meggs of Cantonment, Fla., Chris Johnson of Tuscaloosa, and Michael Johnson of Tuscaloosa; and five great-grandchildren.
He owned and operated A.C. Whitley Construction Company for nearly 60 years and built many homes, apartments, and businesses in Tuscaloosa and the surrounding areas. In addition, he was one of the three founders of ARC, Inc. He was a faithful member of Woodhaven Church of the Nazarene and the Gideons International. His greatest accomplishment was his love of God and family above all else.
Honorary pallbearers are Steven Meggs, Anthony Newman, Chris Johnson, Michael Johnson, Jeff Johnson, and Tony Newman.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Hospice of West Alabama for the warm and tender care given to my husband and our father by the nurses and supporting staff.
