Allen is preceded in death by his mother, father, brother, and sister.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years Sheila Herd and his brother Russell Herd.
A visitation will be held at Memory Chapel Funeral Home (2200 Skyland Blvd E, Tuscaloosa, AL 35406) on August 9, 2026, at 10:00am
The final resting place will be at Memory Hill Gardens in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
