

She grew up in the Wylam community and attended Wylam Elementary School. Graduated from Ensley High School. She is a lifelong member of Wylam Presbyterian Church. She was employed at US Steel Pipe Mill in Fairfield, AL, and retired in 1996. Afterward, she moved to Northport, AL.
Mittie is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Otto Dietz and Caroline Frederick Dietz; brothers, Robert Dietz (Billie), Albert Dietz (Virginia), Carl Dietz (Elizabeth); sister and brother-in-law, Margaret Dietz Marcum and Claude Marcum
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Wood Miller and Arvil Miller; grandson and his wife, Christopher Brandon Miller and Carrie Melissa Miller, and two great-grandsons, Jackson Daniel and Camden Arvil Miller. Many nieces and nephews and their families. Her beloved pets Abby, Maggie, Rosie, and Allie.
Due to the heat and at the request of the family, a private interment will be held. She loved all her family dearly and asked that they gather together at a future date for a Dietz family reunion.
A special thanks to the staff of Arbor Woods Health and Rehab in Reform, AL, where she had resided over the last several years. Also, Dr. Julia Boothe, Dr. Robert Honea, and Hospice of West Alabama for their wonderful support and care.
