

Ann H. Falgout went home to be with the Lord on October 4, 2023 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama at the age of 89. A native of Tuscaloosa she was born on September 15, 1934. She graduated from Tuscaloosa High School and was employed as church secretary at Rosedale Baptist Church and Trinity Methodist Church. After surviving breast cancer, she volunteered for years as a Reach to Recovery Representative for the American Cancer Society serving other women in their recovery. Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years M.J. (Sonny) Falgout, Jr, sister Beverly Thaxton and brother Billy Hicks. She is survived by her son Dr. Howard (Joey) Falgout, (Sherry) and daughter Donna Hardin (Brion). Ann was blessed with 5 grandchildren Heather Hayes (Logan), Ryan Falgout (Roxanne), Lindsey Hardin, Braxton Hardin (Leslie), Brandy Shaw (Jeremy) and 6 great grandchildren. Ann was a member of First Baptist Church and actively participated in the Senior Choir, the Secondhand Rose Ministry and LLL. She also had a special affinity and heart for children and served young families for many years in the Cradle Roll Ministry. Ann was outgoing, and fun loving. She enjoyed sporting events, visiting antique malls and flea markets, and was a great cook. She is remembered for her portrayal of “Minnie Pearl” in the LLL fundraiser, where she brought down the house with laughter. Ann’s smile was infectious, and she loved to laugh and to laugh with others. She was a devoted wife and mother, “Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her; “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” A memorial service will be held to celebrate Ann’s life on October 8, 2023 at the Chapel of First Baptist Church Tuscaloosa at 3:30pm, with the visitation to precede the service from 2:30pm until 3:30pm. Honorary pallbearers include Ryan Falgout, Braxton Hardin, Chuck Malone, Jason Avery, Stephen Bridgers, Jeremy Shaw, Dr. Ross Vaughn, The Agape Sunday School Class and The Falgout’s Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa. In leu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made in Mrs. Falgout’s memory to the World Mission Offering of First Baptist Church Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
