Arthur Chester Olson Jr.

Mr. Arthur C Olson Jr., age 78, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at 3:00 PM at University Lutheran Church, 911 5th Avenue, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35401. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Immediately following the service will be a reception at the Family Home, 1016 8th Avenue, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35401. The family will rejoin you shortly after the brief internment.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Chester Olson Sr. and Mildred Pribbenow Olson.

He is survived by his twin sister, Stella Olson Rainey; Older sister, Elizabeth Olson Drosdick; Nieces, Elizabeth Drosdick Francetic (David Thompson Francetic), Elizabeth Rainey Glasscox (Jack Stanton Glasscox) and Rosalie Rainey Perkinson (Frederick Charles Perkinson Jr.); nephews, Ernest Raymond Drosdick (Meidor Hu Drosdick) and Stephen Joseph Drosdick; and many more great nieces and nephews.

Arthur Chester Olson Jr. was born November 3rd, 1944 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama at 16 lbs. He and his twin sister, Stella, were the largest set of twins ever born at DCH. He graduated from Lyman Ward Military Academy in 1966. He was a member of the Alabama National Guard, the Tuscaloosa Jaycees, and the University Lutheran Church. A lifelong picture framer, he worked at Little Gallery which had been opened by his parents, Mildred and Arthur Olson Sr., in 1954. In his last years, Art especially enjoyed activities at Caring Days where he was surrounded by love, compassion, and a new audience for his many funny stories. Arthur will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Frederick Charles Perkinson III, Frederick Charles Perkinson Jr., Andrew Napier Perkinson, Jack Stanton Glasscox, Thomas Denton Glasscox, Gilbert Albert Pribbenow, and Frederick Richardson.
