

TUSCALOOSA Ausie L. Beams, age 80, of Tuscaloosa, died June 24, 2010. Services will be 3 p.m. today at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Ken Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy S. Beams; his mother, Essie Beams; his brothers, Edward and Jessie T. Beams; and his sisters, Audine Junkin and Elma Lou Drensky.
Survivors include his sons, Jerome (Judy), Brad, Gary (Renee), Stanley, and Jeff Beams; and his grandchildren, Rachel Beams and Dustin and Cory Beams.
Ausie Beams believed in the value of hard work. He was a great provider and was always there for people. He loved sports and coached his sons and others in Little League baseball. He developed a work ethic and strength that only those of his generation can understand. Though a strong man, his greatest strength was his compassion to those in need. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Junkin, Ronnie Junkin, Mark Drensky, Jerry Fondren, Dustin Beams, and Cory Beams.
Honorary pallbearers are retirees of BF Goodrich, Jamie Koon, John Shepard, Thomas Beams, Junior Latham, M.D. Baines, staff of Morning Pointe, and the nurses, staff, and physicians of Pickens County Medical Center Senior Care Unit and ICU.
