Barbara M. Reeder, 86, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, with memorial services to follow at 2:00 PM, officiated by Rev. Gary Ward.
Barbara was a loving mother, wife, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a dear friend to many. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Reeder, Jr.; her mother, Mildred McClusky; her father, D.O. McClusky, Jr.; and her sister, JoEllen McClusky Sneed.
She is survived by her three children: James W. Reeder III (Dolores), Laura Reeder Jones, and Andy Reeder (Heather); her three grandchildren, Michael James Reeder, Matthew Landon Jones (Brandon), and Lacey Camille Jones (Wesley); her great-granddaughter, Maya Grace Velasquez Raymundo; her brothers, Dan McClusky and David McClusky; along with many beloved extended family members and friends.
She was born in Birmingham, Alabama, and graduated from The University of Alabama. She loves Bama football, traveling—especially trips to the beach, painting, and most of all, spending time with her family.
She will be remembered for her kind and nurturing spirit, her willingness to help anyone in need, and the life lessons and values she lovingly shared with her children, grandchildren, and everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her warmth, compassion, and positive influence touched many lives.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Breast Cancer Foundation.
