On May 29, 1959, Bettie married her sweetheart, Jim, in Aliceville. In the years that followed, they built a life together that carried them from Alabama to South Carolina, Oregon, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and ultimately back to Alabama, welcoming three children along the way.
Through every move and every season, their 67 years of marriage reflected mutual devotion and affection, grounded in their shared walk with the Lord and a deep love for their family.
Bettie and Jim began attending One Hope Church (formerly First Wesleyan), where they served diligently in the Parakaleo Sunday school class and in other ministries. Bettie also gave many years of dedicated service as a secretary for attorney Perry Hubbard and later served for 20 years at Northridge Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents Dowell C. Bearden and Ollie Mae Bearden; brothers, Cleaburn Bearden and Winford Bearden.
She is survived by her husband James Jacobs; daughter, Scarlett Reed; sons Grant Jacobs, Christopher Jacobs; grandchildren, Hannah Jacobs and Ethan Jacobs.
