TUSCALOOSA – Betty Hughes Dickey, age 92, passed away January 1, 2022 at her home. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 7, 2022 at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Ms. Dickey was preceded in death by her husband, James Ruben Dickey; parents, Lola and Floyd Hughes; step-mother, Della Ray Hughes; sisters, Patsy Hughes, Mary McDaniel, and Mildred Dickey; brother, Donny Ray Hughes; granddaughter, Laura Pate Rasco; and grandson-in-law, Austin Rasco.
She is survived by her daughters, Lola Martin (Mac) and Brenda Pate (Ken); sons, James F. Dickey, Paul Dickey, and Joseph Dickey; sister, Sara Hart; brother, Floyd W. Hughes; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers are members of Forest Lake Baptist Church; and the nurses and staff of 6th Floor DCH Regional Medical Center.
