.TUSCALOOSA – Betty Latham Green, age 84, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., died February 25, 2017 at Heritage Health Care. A graveside service will be 1 p.m. February 28, 2017 at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Rev. Jimmy Garner officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 28, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at Heritage Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, A Dignity Memorial Provider.She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Stewart Green; parents, Clint and Frances Latham; sister and brother-in-law, Marguerite Walker and Carl.Survivors include her daughters, Paula Phurrough (Steve) of Columbia, Md., Brenda Walker of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; son, Steve Green (John) of Huntsville, Ala.; grandchildren, David Walker of Chesterfield, Va., Ashley Walker of Atlanta, Ga., Meredith Walker of San Antonia, Texas, Jeffrey Phurrough (Rachel) of Pasadena, Calif., Jennifer Bagg (Johnathan) of Derwood, Md.; great-grandchildren, Ansley and Dew Brown of Atlanta, Ga., Ellie and Robyn Bagg of Derwood, Md. and Brandon Phurrough of Pasadena, Calif.Betty grew up in Tuscaloosa, Ala. and graduated from Tuscaloosa High School. She married the love of her life, Paul on December 20, 1950. She retired from Druid City Hospital where she worked in the insurance department. Betty's energy was contagious and was loved by all. She continued to serve the community at Belk PARA Community Center and enjoyed being active with family friends. Her love of travel and Alabama football games was always shared with Paul. As a devout Christian Betty grew up involved in Forest Lake Baptist Church and later as a member with Paul at Skyland Baptist Church. She knew death was a passage to eternity. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and "Granna"Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Phurrough, Drew Brown, Dennis James, Jim Singley, Tim Robertson and Jim Bradford.Honorary pallbearers are the staff of Heritage Health Care, Dr. Regina Harrell, Dee Dockery and special friend, Linda King.Condolences may be offered at www.heritagechapeltuscaloosa.com
