Betty was the principal at Arcadia when my children Doug, Dan, and Davis attended. What great memories I have of those years. She is an "institution" in my family's memory. I am grateful for her years working with the children there.
Peace and blessing to you,

Uncle Joe: I am so sorry to hear of Aunt Betty's passing. I will miss her very much. I have such fond memories growing up and visiting with you two. We were always excited when you'd come to Pensacola to visit us as well. I will miss Aunt Betty's smile and laugh. I hope that you surround yourself with friends and family during this time. And take care of yourself. Dwight Myers

Dr. Pilegge,

We were out of town with our family last week, and I was so saddened to hear of Betty's death when we returned. She was a wonderful, accomplished person and principal, and I am thankful that our daughters, Julie and Amy, attended Arcadia during her "reign" there.

I have noticed through the years how you and Betty always seemed to be together, and I know how devoted you were to her care and comfort. Betty will be missed by many but none more than you. I will pray for you during this time of sadness in the loss of your dear wife.

Dear Joe,
I am so saddened to learn about the passing of Betty. She was such a delightful person who, like you, made me feel so welcomed to Tuscaloose when I moved here. Moreover, I always loved running into Betty over the years because she was such a happy and positive person with a great sense of humor. When I would see you and Betty at an occasional baseball games, I always thought what a wonderful companion and wife. I know that Betty was a blessing in your life and the lives of everyone she touched.
Sincerely,
Norman Baldwin

Dr. Pilegge:
I have thought many times about all of the Political Science faculty/staff and spouses that I was associated with during the time that I was the PSC staff assistant. I miss all of them. Some were more special than others. And you were one of the special ones. I am so very sorry about the passing of Mrs. Pilegge. Please know that you are in our prayers.

Sincerely,
Sue & Tom Freeman
