NORTHPORT - Billie Sue Lynn, age 86, of Northport, Ala., passed away January 4, 2019 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2019, at Rice’s Valley Baptist Church with Bro. Sam Delaney directing. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be two hours prior to services at the church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Verner Hamner and Ruby Hamner; sister, Jeanette Paige; and several aunts and uncles. Survivors include her husband, Samuel Lynn; daughters, Susan Hester (Charles) and Rebecca Jackson (Chris); son, Clayton Lynn (Tina); sisters, Frances Elmore, Charlotte Elmore (Elbert) and Carolyn Patrick; brothers, Lamar Hamner (Sue) and Dwight Hamner (Judy); grandchildren, Terri Lackey, Christy Edgeworth, Joseph and Christopher Lynn, Kayla Boone-Davis, Blade Cooper, Brooke Melton and Melanie Harbin; eleven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Sue was a faithful servant to the Lord. She loved attending church at Rice’s Valley Baptist Church and reading her Bible daily. She was a beloved wife of 67 years, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She is remembered by her family for her faith in Jesus Christ, exceptional cooking, sewing, gardening, and her love of fishing at her sons farm. Sue will be greatly missed here on Earth. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy to her family who can confidently say she is now resting in the arms of Jesus. Pallbearers will be Blade Cooper, Christopher Lynn, Joseph Lynn, Hunter Boone-Davis, Larry Cooper, Jackie Jones, Myles Edgeworth and Hunter Lackey. Honorary pallbearers are deacons and church members of Rice’s Valley Baptist Church, friends and neighbors of Highway 171, and W.J. and Doris Kay LaFoy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research or a charity of your choice.
