Brian Matthew Ward

Brian "Matthew" Ward entered this world on December 18, 2007, to parents Mike and Pam Ward. Born with Trisomy 21, he was extra special. Matthew embodied a heart of gold and an infectious smile that inspired all who knew him. He loved watching his iPad, listening to music, swinging his nunchucks, and playing with his animals. He received exceptional care at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital after being diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in June, until he received his ultimate healing.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Memory Chapel Funeral Home on August 30, 2025, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Marvin Keys presiding. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services. A private family burial service will take place at Rosemont Cemetery in Uniontown, Ala.

Matthew was preceded in death by his grandparents, Billy and Patricia Ward.

He is survived by his parents, Mike and Pam Ward; sister, Brianna Ward of Gallatin, Tenn; brother, Michael Ward (Jess) of Courtland, Ohio; grandparents, Bob and Carol Drury of Linden, Ala; and extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Danny Mitchem, Jason Pearson, Colby Pearson, Shawn Westbrook, Chase Quarles, and Clay Myers.

Honorary pallbearers will be all of Matthew's caregivers at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Brian Matthew Ward.
