Carolyn K. Dalsing, affectionately known as “Momma C”, was born on February 3, 1958, to her loving parents, Alton and Mary King. She was born and raised in Tuscaloosa, Alabama alongside her sister, Connie King Palmer.
She attended Holt High School and graduated with the Class of 1976. On December 6, 1980, she married the love of her life, Albert Dalsing. Together they built a loving family and were blessed with two daughters, Leigh Masterson (Todd) and Nancy Dalsing, and four beloved grandchildren - Mallory, Emma, Justin, and Harrison.
Carolyn began her career pursuing her passion for baking and decorating cakes at Wright’s Bakery before working in retail at Faucett’s Clothing and Spiller Furniture stores. She later transitioned into banking, beginning her financial career at Regions Bank and then at the Bank of Tuscaloosa where she continued to grow her experience in the industry. Carolyn devoted more than 20 years to banking and retired in 2020 as an Assistant Branch Manager at Bryant Bank. Throughout her life, she also dedicated time to serving her community through Relay for Life Charity Walks and Operation Christmas Child with Samaritan’s Purse.
Momma C was known for her creativity, wit, and entertaining spirit. She enjoyed painting, crafting, planting seasonal flowers, and continuously adding beauty to her backyard. She loved music and singing and had the remarkable ability to play several instruments by ear.
Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren. She cherished every moment spent with them, whether attending their sporting events and school functions, crafting together at home, teaching them new games, or creating lasting memories through new experiences. Her grandchildren brought immeasurable happiness and purpose to her life.
She also enjoyed camping with family and friends, traveling, sightseeing, and embracing new adventures. Holidays were especially meaningful to her, and she took great pride in planning, decorating, and hosting family gatherings. Every detail mattered to her, and she always went above and beyond to make others feel loved and welcomed.
Momma C truly embraced her role as the matriarch of the family. She was a trusted listener, a source of wisdom and encouragement, and often the biggest cheerleader for those she loved. She led by example in both her professional and personal life with strength, kindness, and resilience. Even during difficult times, she maintained a positive outlook and continued to uplift those around her.
She touched countless lives and left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of those she cherished. Although she will be deeply missed, we rejoice in the comfort knowing that Momma C is fully healed, free from pain and at peace in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. To know Momma C was truly to love her.
