She worked diligently as a hair stylist in Northport for over 50 years! Catherine was also a very talented artist. She had a sweet spirit and an infectious laugh and enjoyed developing relationships with her clients and her church family at Northport First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her sister, Barbara Selman of Cary, NC; her niece, Tracy Aiello (Rafe) of Cary, NC; her nephew, Brian Hydrick (Brandy) of Charlotte, NC and her canine companion, Sweetie. She was preceded in death by her father, Americus Raiford Matthews and her mother, Julia White Matthews.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Memory Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
