He is preceded in death by his parents, Alva Theodore and Helen Elizabeth; brothers, Jackie, Jimmy, Larry and Ricky; grandchild, Luke; great-grandchild, Addie Zane.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Jones Hinton; daughters, Elizabeth (Jerry) and Kimberly (Gary); sons, Chuck (Pauline), Jason (Lauren), and Josh (Kayce); grandchildren, Patrick, Lisa, Mary Faith, Jackson, Haley, Maggie, Jack, Logan, Sam, Raegan, and Andrew; great-grandchildren, Annlee Harper, Johnson and Maddie.
Dad was a true family man. He never missed a ballgame or any event his children were involved in. He was strong in his faith and loved the Lord. He was employed by B.F. Goodrich, and was fondly known as "Big Boy". Dad loved fishing with sons, beach trips with the entire family and spending time with his grandkids. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and enjoyed cooking for the family on holidays and family gatherings.
Pallbearers are sons, Charles Thomas Hinton Jr., Jason Hinton, and Josh Hinton; grandsons, Patrick Hinton, Jackson Mills; son-in-laws, Jerry Tingle, Gary Hood, and caregiver Rashard Taggart.
Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy and Betty Allen, caregiver Annette Stallsworth, members of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and retiree's of B.F. Goodrich.
A visitation for Tommy will be held Friday, April 21, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, 2200 Skyland Blvd East, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35405, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of West Alabama and Caring Days.
