Charles “Charlie” Otts of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 2, 2025, at the age of 86. He was born on May 10, 1939, in Brownville, Alabama, to Elmer Ivan Otts and Edith Sexton Galloway.
Charlie married the love of his life, Jacquelyn Cox, on March 25, 1966. They shared 59 wonderful years together filled with love, laughter, and family.
Charlie proudly served in the Army Reserve and later worked for many years with BF Goodrich, where he was known for his dedication, reliability, and strong work ethic.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Ivan Otts; mother, Edith Sexton Galloway; stepfather, Huey Galloway; and brother, Thomas Newton Otts.
He is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn Cox Otts; sons, Scott Anthony Otts and Christopher Charles Otts (Leanne); granddaughters, Karen Otts Johnson (Jared) and Allison Otts; and great-granddaughter, Ellison Johnson.
He was a long time member of Taylorville Baptist Church. In recent years, Charlie enjoyed playing dominoes and spending time with his friends at the United Steelworkers Local 351 union hall. He will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, and devotion to his family.
