Charles Ellis Reed Sr.

DUNCANVILLE Charles Ellis Reed, age 61, of Duncanville, died August 19, 2013, at home. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be Wednesday one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Grace Reed of Cordova; and brother, Wayne Reed of Pleasant Grove.

Survivors include his wife, Susan White Reed; sons, Charles Ellis Reed II and wife Leigh Ann of Tifton, Ga., and Brandson White of Tuscaloosa; sister, Jane Reed of Pleasant Grove; brother, Jerry D. Reed of Ragland; several nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Patrick Scott Reed of Tifton, Ga., and Brianna White of Tuscaloosa; and four furry family members, Maylee, Dexter, Jackson, and O'Malley.

Charles graduated from Cordova High School and attended Walker College and Jacksonville State. He worked as a coal miner for 28 years and retired from Jim Walter #7. He loved to fish, go camping, and listen to rock and roll music. He was an avid Auburn fan. War Eagle. He is gone to be with his Lord and Savior.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Humane Society of West Alabama, 1515 Veterans Memorial Parkway, Tuscaloosa, AL 35404.
