Debbie is preceded in death by her grandmother, Callie Denton; parents, Jimmy and Jean Findley; and sister, Kimberly Findley.
She is survived by her daughters, Kristin Smith and Lauren Smith; brothers, Jeff Findley and Tracy Findley; grandchildren, Tori Henson, Anna Kate Henson, Hiccup, and Klaus.
Debbie was born to Jean and Jimmy Findley in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and was the eldest of their four children. She was a graduate of Holt High School, where she had many friends. Debbie was the mother of two daughters, Kristin and Lauren Smith, and Grananny to Tori and Anna Kate Henson (Kristin), and her furgrands, Hiccup and Klaus (Lauren). As a teen, Debbie worked at a local movie theater; later on in life, Debbie did reception work at several doctors' offices, but her very favorite job was being a live-in nanny to Hannah and Nate Woodward. She loved being a part of their lives and watching them grow. Debbie was someone who worked very hard, was so easy to love; always smiled; absolutely loved making people laugh, had a personality that people were drawn to, and loved her children and grandchildren beyond measure. She was a light and loved the Lord so much. She fought a long battle; a victory is finally hers... in the arms of our precious Savior. She is already greatly missed.
Pallbearers will be Nathaniel Woodward, Jackson Mitchell, Noah Varney, Kyler Jayne, and Tyler Newman.
Honorary pallbearers will be Doug and Angelia Woodward, Terri and Bob Edmonds, Margie Henson Colburn, Lindsay Hastings, Lindsay McCloud, Teri Burkhatter, Natylha Denton, Mark and Kendelea Smith, Brandi and Jamie Banks, Clay Leak, Tina Price, and Erin Martin.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations of blankets, socks, and arts and crafts for the activity center at Forest Manor Heath and Rehab Nursing Home.
Visitation will be held at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, 2200 Skyland Blvd East, Tuscaloosa, AL 35405, US, on October 16, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by the Funeral Service at Memory Chapel Funeral Home at 12:00 pm.
A Committal Service will take place at Memory Hill Gardens, 2200 Skyland Blvd East, Tuscaloosa, AL 35405, US, on October 16, 2026.
