

Visitation will be held 1:00 pm -2:30 pm on January 30th, 2021 at Memory Chapel Funeral Home. Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on January 30, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Memory Hill Gardens.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lowell Glenn and Elizabeth Hammack; his brother, Stan Hammack; his daughter, Jennifer Hammack; and his granddaughter, Erica Luca.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Hammack; his son, Russell (Natasha); son-in-law, Eric Luca; step-children, Chris Boatner, Ken Boatner (Jennifer), and Paula Holcomb (Josh); and grandchildren, Tyler Luca, Jesse Luca, Reagan Hammack and Riley Hammack.
Affectionately referred to as “Hamm” by many of his friends, Don was a proud graduate of Tuscaloosa High School. Following high school he married the late Sandra Bullock Hammack and had two children, Russell and Jennifer. He was a veteran who served honorably in the Air Force and later in the Army National Guard. After his active duty military service he returned to Tuscaloosa and was employed and retired from BF Goodrich after 25 years. In 2000, Don married Linda Boatner Hammack and they enjoyed more than 20 years of marriage. Throughout his life he was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church, Northport Baptist Church and Cottondale Community Church. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, Alabama Football, vacationing with his family and loving his beautiful grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mike Powell, Bart Tingle, Peter Huver, Allen Mitchell, Eric Luca, and Danny Murray.
Honorary pallbearers are the doctors, nurses and staff of DCH MICU.
