Ray is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Ruth Fields, and in-laws, Joe and Carolyn Lee.
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Lydia Fields; daughter, Lesley Anne Fields; sisters, Joyce Matherson (Danny), Tammy Poole (Howell); and grandson, Henry Chase Powell.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Johnson, Tony Cochran, Randall Roberson, Johnny Kynard, Frank Lee, Joseph Lee, Allen Lee, Zach Lee.
Honorary pallbearers are grandson Henry Powell; Dr. John Summerford of Tuscaloosa Internal Medicine, DCH Hospital, UAB Hospital, The Westervelt Company, International Paper; the members of Englewood Baptist Church; and the Hale County High School graduating class of 1971.
A Funeral Service will be held at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, 2200 Skyland Blvd East, Tuscaloosa, AL 35405, US, on October 4, 2026, at 2:00 pm officiated by Pastor Bryan Dunn, Bro. Bill Richards, and Dr. James Dennis Lee.
A Committal Service will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, Moundville, AL 35474, US, on October 4, 2026.
