Donnie worked hard throughout his entire life and never slowed down. Donnie established many titles for himself including cattlemen, restaurant owner of the calico kitchen, restaurant owner of Vance diner, business owner of Snider’s Feed and Seed, as well as business owner of CNS antiques where he spent most of his later years. Donnie enjoyed meeting and conversing with all of his customers over the years, as well as going to auctions to find new pieces for his shop. But most of all, Donnie was a beloved husband, father, grandfather “pawpaw”, and friend. Those who had the pleasure of knowing him would tell you that he was selfless and a true joy to be around. Donnie never viewed anybody as a stranger and would help anyone in need without hesitation. You would most likely find Donnie, alongside his wife Ann, in the garden where they enjoyed planting and harvesting their own crops. If not in the garden, Donnie was starting new projects, tending to the chickens, or riding his grandchildren and now great grandchildren around on the golf cart. Out of all the accomplishments Donnie achieved throughout his 80 years of life, what he loved most and what he was most proud of was his family. He will be remembered not by the jobs he held, but by the powerful impact he made on all of those around him.
Pallbearers are Scott Tubbs, Jamie Almon, Brandon Tubbs, Conner Tubbs, Dustin Snider, and Wayne Battles.
Honorary Pallbearers are family, friends, Coffee Buddies, UMC Physicians, Hospice of West Alabama Staff and Devita Dialysis Staff.
