
NORTHPORT – Dorothy "Maxine" Clinton, age 88, of Northport, Ala., died January 4, 2018, at Northport Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, January 8, 2018, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Pugh officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles A. and Wilma Ryan; husband, Leslie "Junior" Clinton; brothers, J. C. and Wilbur Ryan; and sister, Nell Gilbert.
Survivors include her daughter, Patrice Ryan of Northport, Ala. and a number of nieces and nephews.
Maxine enjoyed helping others. She worked as an aide at Partlow for over 20 years and lovingly cared for many nieces, nephews and babies in her church family after retiring.
She was an active member of Alberta Baptist Church for many years where she taught Sunday School/Bible School and served on the Bereavement Committee. She enjoyed traveling and visiting family.
Maxine was a loving mother, aunt and friend and will be greatly missed.
Pallbearers will be Andy Gilbert, Stephen Gilbert, Kevin Davis, John Eric Davis and John Dollar.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Gene Alldredge and staff, Northport Medical Center Emergency Department and ICU doctors and staff, Hunter Creek Rehab staff, Brookdale residents and staff, Windsong friends and neighbors and members of Alberta Baptist Church.
