Dorothy Alice Cook Davis was born on February 4, 1931 and died at home on February 11, 2024 at the age of 93. She was preceded in death by her mother, Eula Windle Cook; her father, Willie S. Cook; brothers, Doris Allen Cook, Clarence Cook (Christine) and Eugene Cook (Mary); sister, Sue Cook Lamb (Earnest); husband, Ira Knox Davis; bonus daughter, Hazel Davis Mann; and bonus granddaughter, Merilee Mann.

She is survived by sons, Ira Joe Davis (Teresa) and David Allen Davis (Donna); bonus daughter, Betty Davis Surprenant (Roger); granddaughters, Kimberly Davis Terhune (David) and Elizabeth Davis; grandson, Eric Davis (Taylor); bonus grandsons, Hank Mann and Michael Surprenant (Laurie); bonus granddaughter, Michele Surprenant (Kajal); great-grandchildren, Levi Davis, Nolan Davis and Oakley Davis; bonus great-grandchildren, Cali Brown, Oliver Brown, Marie Surprenant, Andrew Jain, Taylor Jain, Devin Ramos, Gabrielle Surprenant and Lindsey Surprenant.

Dorothy was a faithful Christian and attended Saint Luke United Methodist Church. She was a devoted homemaker who loved her family dearly. Dorothy enjoyed cooking, working in her yard, walking, playing Rook, listening to gospel and blue-grass music and working word-search puzzles. Today, we praise God and celebrate her life and the legacy she created.
