Dorothy Williams Holman, age 89, of Cook Springs, Ala., passed away, December 27, 2018 in Cook Springs, Ala. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, December 31, 2018, at Heritage Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Kenn Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Holman; and son, John Holman.
Survivors include her daughter, Debra Walser; sons, Mike Holman and Robert Holman; grandchildren, Nick Holman, Kristen Corey and David Holman; and great-granddaughter, Alexis Holman.
Dot was born in Tuscaloosa, Ala. on October 14, 1929, to the late Arthur B. and Rose C. Williams.
After graduating from the University of Alabama, Dot's career in social work was spent in selfless service of others, particularly children and the disadvantaged. She was always ready to help those in need whenever there was an opportunity and this spirit of giving continued during retirement, through her volunteer activities at Druid City Hospital. Throughout her life, Dot enjoyed baking and many types of needlework, crocheting and quilting.
Pallbearers will be Jeb Corey, David Holman Mike Holman, Nick Holman, Robert Holman and Gerald L'Ecuyer.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association.
