GALLION | Edgar Lloyd "Noot" McCray, age 82, of Gallion, died March 7, 2016. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2016, at Memory Chapel with Rev. Hank Achison officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, A Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2016, at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Ruth McCray; and his brother, Clarence McCray.Survivors include his daughter, Terri Lynn McCray; son, Scott McCray (Marianne); sister, Lillian Broadhead; and brother, Watson McCray; grandchildren, Anna McCray Tilley, Laura McCray Holdbrooks, Mary Kathryn McCray, Daniel McCray, Luke McCray and Harry Williams; and great- grandson, Rhett Tilley. Edgar Lloyd "Noot" McCray was a good man that strived to put others before himself. He had many struggles in his life, but he was always grateful for the blessings that God had given him. He overcame many obstacles to be a faithful and loving provider for his family. He loved to hunt, trotline fish, and garden. He was a simple man that reminded his family and friends daily of the important things in life. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him. We are thankful that Noot can hear well now and his body is whole because he is with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a member at Spencer Nazarene Church in Brent, Ala. and also at Gallion Baptist Church in Gallion, Ala. Pallbearers are Daniel McCray, Luke McCray, Garrett Tilley, Harry Williams, Pace Holdbrooks and Randy Hallman.Honorary pallbearers will be Hospice of West Alabama, The Seniors at Gallion Baptist Church, Dr. Craig Buettner, Douglas McCray, Danny Broadhead, Charles Estes, Members of Spencer Nazarene Church and Stan McCray.
