Edward S. Weeks

Edward S. Weeks, age 90, of Akron, died July 13, 2010, at home. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Danny R. Beard officiating. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery in Akron with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ila Malaine and Melton Lee Weeks; two sons, Randy and Ronnie Weeks; two grandsons, Dewayne Weeks and Jesse Presley; one great-grandson, Christopher Presley; and four brothers, Frank Weeks, Lofton Weeks, Leroy Weeks, and Melton Weeks.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Weeks; his daughters, Cora Green (Leo) and Barbara Weeks; his sons, James Weeks (Deborah), Melton “Buddy” Weeks (Mellissa), Edward “Sonny” Weeks (Lucy), and Jerry Weeks (Dianne); his sister-in-law, Johnnie Weeks; his grandchildren, Chris Weeks, Jamie Zienni, Ronnie Weeks, Angela Weeks, John Presley, Lisa Lemley, Kiesha Weeks, Randy Weeks, Ryan Weeks, Brock Elliott, Brad Elliott, Shanelle Weeks, Cody Weeks, Heather Soloan, Hanna Weeks, Danielle Weeks, Joshua Nelson, and Tearessa Bourgeois; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Edward Weeks was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved to live life to its fullest. He enjoyed having company to tell old stories. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. He had lots of love to give and a lot of love to be received.

Pallbearers will be Mike Lemley, Tyler Lemley, Jerry Weeks, Buddy Weeks, Cris Belcher, and Jerry Tidwell.

Honorary pallbearers include Leo Green.
