BROOKWOOD – Elizabeth “Sissy” Mae Kost, age 59, passed away at her home April 14, 2023. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 17, 2023 at Heritage Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Boyd officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Sissy will be laid to rest in Big Hurricane Cemetery in Brookwood.
Sissy was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Kost; parents, Sue Lowe and Jack Leonard; and brother, Christopher Leonard.
She is survived by her children, Jack Duncan (Alyson), Audrey Sue Kost, and Kaylie Kost; siblings, Johnny New (Deena), Bubba Leonard (Cindy), and Jackie Banks (Bruce); grandchildren, Sydney and Jillian Duncan; and several nieces and nephews, god-children, and close friends.
Pallbearers will be Austin Pierce, Timmy Banks, Timothy Banks, Richard “Big R” McMillan, Dolin Hulsey, and Bit Hulsey.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Call, Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center, Cardiology Consultants, Dr. Salinas, GI Associates of West Alabama, and Loving Canines.
