Emrys "Ed" Edwin Cook

Emrys Edwin (Ed) Cook, age 75 went to be with the lord on September 20, 2021. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shirley Green Cook, his daughter Jennifer Cook (Tom Zaleski) and his son Kevin Cook (Melody). Four grandchildren, Zac (Katy) and Jake (Lyndsie) Cook and Hannah and Bella Berrell and 3 great grandchildren, Everett, Nora Jane, and Saylor Beck. His sister, Irma Clark and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Ed served in the U.S. Navy in the early 1960’s. He was employed by McAbee Construction until he retired in 1999. He loved boating on the Black Warrior River and served as President of the Pirates of the Warrior boat club for several years. He loved his community and served as the Vice President of the Peterson Water Department.

He was a pillar of strength to his family, a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be missed by all that called him family or friend.

Services will be managed Memory Chapel funeral home. A Graveside service will be officiated by Jason Turner on September 23rd at 10 o’clock in Memory Hill Gardens.

Pallbearers will Zac Cook, Jake Cook, Dewey Green, Joey Green, Daniel Green and Dennis Sellars.

The memories of the good times will keep Ed’s spirit with us until we meet again.
