Eva B Bolton

Funeral services will be on September 18, 2026, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home.

The family will receive visitors from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, with a service at 11:00 am, with Bro. Larry Morrison officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Gardens.

She attended Five Points Baptist Church until her health no longer allowed her to. She enjoyed her Sunday School class fellowship and the many trips she participated in with some of her sisters while attending.

Eva was the fifth sister of the Channell sisters and proudly claimed the title "Sister 5," as seen on her personalized car tag around town.

Eva was a social butterfly who never met a stranger, often evidenced by her greeting, "Don't I know you?" She was always capturing the moment and memories because she took a picture of every detail, no matter what the occasion.

Eva was a proud graduate of Holt High School class of 1962. She loved her class reunions and any chance she had to wear her purple and white. While attending Holt High School, she was a proud member of the marching band where she played the clarinet.

Eva loved music, both singing and playing instruments. She especially enjoyed singing Christmas carols with her family at holiday gatherings. She enjoyed playing her piano and keyboard whenever she could, even through the days of her battling her dementia.

Eva's work history included Sears, First National Bank, and the University of Alabama, from which she retired after 15 years of service.

Her love for the University of Alabama carried over to her and her husband Sid working all of the home football games together. She was an avid Alabama fan and always dressed fashionably from head to toe in her Alabama attire.

After her retirement from the University, she volunteered at DCH with the DCH Volunteer Auxiliary for several years, where she shared her welcoming smile with everyone she helped.

Eva loved life, especially when her family was around her. She loved her two sons and three grandchildren more than life itself and kept in touch with long-distance family as well with her many phone calls.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 27 years, Sid Bolton; parents, Gilbert Russell and Lois Elizabeth Lewis Channell; sisters, Geraldine Dockery, Martha Hinton, and Loretta Fretwell.

Survivors include her sons, Roger Sanford (Jill) and Mark Sanford (Heather), all of Tuscaloosa, AL; her grandchildren, Jacob Sanford (Mallory) of Charleston, NC, Austin Sanford (Brylin), and Erin Dunn (Nate), all of Tuscaloosa, AL; sisters, Marie Parker (Fred), Faye Creel, Shirley Crowder Brown, Linda Hahn (Gary), and Judy May (Charles), and many nieces, nephews, and other family.

Pallbearers will be Tony Fretwell, Brian Hahn, Clay Hahn, Chris Crowder, Jacob Sanford, and Austin Sanford.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jordan Plaster, Vonnell Cargile, Barbara Rose, members of Five Points Baptist Church, Sears coworkers, Holt High School class of 1962, staff of Hospice of West Alabama, and Amanda Black

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama in her honor
