I remember my Uncle Gale as a very kind hearted soft spoken man. I always looked up to him and was in awe at how intelligent he was. With three rambunctious boys aka cousins. When we would visit them in my childhood it was four girl cousins visiting three boy cousins. My memories of those visits were fond. Uncle Gale was a wonderful brother to my mom Linda and they remained close up until his passing. She always said he was her “rock” and he always watched out for her. I am sad he has left us. May he Rest In Peace.

Dr Gale Davis was a wonderful man. He was also a fine leader and mentor to the boys in our Scout Troop and Explorer Post. I have many fond memories of him and his gentle sense of humor. On one of our many annual trips with the scouts, I rode with he and Chris, just the three of us, visiting sites all over the state of Alabama with Troop 89. I think we wore out that Paul McCartney & Wings 8-track tape during that trip. Good times. I scoured my photos, searching for a photo of those years. The best I could find was this one from 1977. The troop was visiting Little River Canyon and we had stopped at one of the many scenic rims. It appears here that Dr Davis is discussing his camera with another of our leaders, Mr Cappell.

I am truly sorry for your loss, Chris. My thoughts are with you and the rest of your family during this difficult time. Hang in there.
