Gary Dean Burt Sr.

Gary Dean Burt Sr., age 74, of Cottondale, Alabama passed away peacefully on Monday, April 21st 2025 at Hospice of West Alabama. A Graveside Celebration of Life will be held at Memory Hill Gardens on Friday, April 25, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Todd Burkhalter officiating.

He was born November 1st 1950 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to Daisy and David Ennis Burt. In his early 20's, he served in the Army as a Spec 4 Diesel Generator Mechanic. Shortly after, he began insulation by trade. Gary Burt Sr. was an honorable, hard-working, simple man. He enjoyed spending his time on the water fishing, in the backyard gardening and planting fields at the hunting club. Gary's memory will remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those who were honored to have had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy will live on for generations to come.

Gary was preceded in death by his mother, Daisy Burt; father, David Ennis Burt; brothers, Dave Burt, Roy Burt, Edward Burt; sisters, Clara Chaudion, Audi Raymiller, Pearl Sparks.

He is survived by her wife, Priscilla Burt; sons, Gary Burt Jr. (Christi); Phillip Burt; brother, Ralph Burt; grandchildren, Madison Clifton (Colton), Hannah Burt, Laurel Burt (Hayden) and one great granddaughter.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Burt, Mark Courington, Colton Clifton, Hayden Fanning, Larry Mullins, Justin Barger.
