George Redmond

George W. Redmond age 84, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama passed away on September 1, 2026. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am on September 25, 2026 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Newnan, Georgia.

George was preceded in death by his father, Fred Redmond; mother, Leola Johnson Redmond; brother, Ben Redmond.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Redmond; daughter, Ashley Redmond; son, Britt Redmond; grandchildren, Miranda Smith, Kaylee McCroskey, Logan Redmond, and Mitchell Redmond; great grandchild, Jordan Smith; nephews, Lee Redmond and Fred Redmond.

George W. Redmond born November 18, 1941, in Birmingham, Alabama. He grew up in Hogansville, Georgia. George Attended Emory at Oxford until 1958 then attended LaGrange College where he was a member of Pi Delta Kappa and graduated in 1963. He entered the Air Force in 1964 and retired in 1984. During his time in the military, he completed a Master of Counseling Psychology from University of Alaska and a Doctor of Education from University of Denver. George enjoyed traveling, UGA football, spending time with family, and antique shopping with his wife of 61 years.
